CONSTRUCTION
· Lead the day-to-day construction activities for non-process and process infrastructure;
· Ensure project meets safety, environment, quality, schedule, and budgetary commitments;
· Champion a safe work culture and oversee the implementation of all site safety systems, in compliance with site Safety Management Plan;
· Fulfil the statutory duties of registered manager and compliance with relevant Act and Regulations;
· Establish and maintain good working relations with all Leo stakeholders including traditional owners, local communities, pastoral lease holders, contractors, and operational readiness team;
· Establish and manage site construction systems to review, approve and manage EPC and sub-contractor resources, risk management, construction plans and schedules;
· Ensure construction work complies with engineering drawings, design specifications, Leo safety, environmental and cultural heritage standards, and statutory regulations;
· Accurate and timely reporting, cost control and project status;
· Ensure the proper utilization of people, material, machinery and process to meet the client requirements within the timelines and budget;
· Assist as required with the recruitment of construction personnel;
· Chair construction staff meetings and provide guidance and goals for each person for the coming week and beyond;
· Contribute to weekly Client meetings and provide updates and feedback with regards to the construction deliverables;
· Communicate immediately with Project Manager on matters that might affect the project goals;
· Regularly communicate with the Project Manager and provide weekly reports, updates and feedback with regards to the construction;
· Provide input as required for the compilation and submission of the project progress report monthly or as required;
· Advise the relevant Manager immediately of any safety or environmental, community or industrial relations incidents as per approved Company policy and procedures;
· Govern the site team members to ensure compliance to Company and Client policies, procedures and guidelines;
· Adhere to Company’s Policy’s and obtain the appropriate internal approvals prior to making any contractual commitments;
· Maintain all inventory files and official paper works related to site activities;
· Register and file all relevant documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures.
CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure all legislative, regulatory and statutory obligations are met
· Provide reports suitable for executive and board distribution
· Conform to company policy and protocols and ensure compliance with all statutory and company obligations
· Undertake any other responsibilities as reasonably required
POSITION HOLDER REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE
· Technical Certificate/Tertiary Education Qualification, Degree or Diploma in Construction Management (desirable) or equivalent industry experience
· Minimum 15+ years’ experience in various aspects of Construction Supervision in the mineral processing and or related industries
· Experience in construction of mine site process plants and non-process infrastructure in remote locations and broad knowledge of SMP, electrical and instrumentation
· Experience in establishing construction systems, processes, and procedures
· Extensive experience in construction contractor selection and management
· Demonstrated field construction leader
· Excellence in project management fundamentals (safety, quality, budget, planning)
· Experience in managing construction projects complying with environmental and other regulatory approvals and constraints
· Sound knowledge of statutory regulations
· Excellence in management reporting and presentation
