Job Title: Health & Safety Superintendent
Direct supervisor: Health & Safety Manager
OBJECTIVE:
The Health & Safety Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Goulamina site in achieving optimum safety outcomes. Actively drives a Zero harm Safety culture onsite whilst providing support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures for LMSA.

HEALTH & SAFETY
· Provide leadership to demonstrate Leo’s commitment to health and safety
· Promote safety awareness amongst team members
· Proactively identify and manage health and safety risks
· Personally adhere to all health and safety standards
· Develop processes, implement and monitor programs to provide a safe working environment for all personnel.
· Conduct health and safety audits and inspections as per audit schedules and risk profile of the works
· Support delivery team and ensure compliance to the project construction documentation processes; provide specialist advice during its development and monitor implementation in the field
· Undertake regular safety monitoring activities, ensuring compliance to safety management systems, contractor agreements and contracts, relevant legislation and business requirements
· Participate in and provide guidance to contractors and stakeholders during on site safety engagements, inspections, audits and the like
· Coordinate and conduct safety training/workshops, assessments and inductions for management and project team members
· Support the implementation of the projects safety strategy and associated actions /programs
· Facilitate and coordinate relevant safety meetings and forums for project team members, stakeholders, and contractors
· Coordinate and lead incident investigations to determine causes and mitigating and preventative measures. Overseeing and managing the appropriateness and level of implementation of such measures; with ongoing monitoring of compliance
CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure all legislative, regulatory and statutory obligations are met
· Provide reports suitable for executive and board distribution
· Conform to company policy and protocols and ensure compliance with all statutory and company obligations
· Undertake any other responsibilities as reasonably required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Job Classification: According to the Collective Agreement of Companies and Enterprises
Geological and Hydrogeological Mining in the Republic of Mali in force
Duty Station: Start in Bamako and subsequently be deployed at Goulamina
Date of entry into service: as soon as possible following the end of the publication of this vacancy announcement
Nature of the contract: CDI
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Have at least a Bac+4 Academic Degree in Safety or related field or relevant experience
Have a professional experience of at least five (5) years in of workplace and contractor safety management processes within complex environments on construction projects or mine operations in a safety related position
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Well-developed understanding in the interpretation of Occupational Health and Safety legislation in Mali and international standards
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading incident investigations including the development of reports and close out of corrective actions
Experience in undertaking safety inspections and other safety monitoring activities including the development of audit reports and close out of corrective actions
High level of skill in conducting and interpreting audits and reviews
High level of skill and experience in developing, analysing and reporting on complex project performance
Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
Capability and experience in delivering training in high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined space, and rescue training
The ability to engage with subcontractors, and to communicate with people at all levels to ensure safety and compliance in relation to LMSA and Leo Lithium’s requirements
Be self-motivated, well organised and committed to the highest possible work standards
Have the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and subcontractors
