Job Title: HR Superintendent


 


Direct supervisor: HR Manager


 


OBJECTIVE:


 


The Superintendent assists the HR Manager in fulfilling the general and specific aspects of Human resources for the Goulamina Project.


This position is an integral member of the onsite HR team by providing support system across both human resources management and learning and development functions.

LEADERSHIP


 


·      Maintain integrity of organization design, structure, and role levels;


·      Operate in a collegiate way across the organization to maintain optimal relationships with all personnel;


·      Advise and guide in grievances and matters of dispute;


HEALTH & SAFETY


·      Promote safety awareness amongst team members


·      Personally adhere to all health and safety standards


HUMAN RESOURCES


·      In collaboration with the Manager HR, ensure internal consistency of HR policy, procedures and systems including but not limited to Organizational structure and integrity, performance management, remuneration and rewards


·      Support the site senior leadership team in providing advice & guidance in effectively addressing grievances;


·      Maintains positive, professional working relations with the senior leadership team, management and the board;


·      Effectively leads recruitments, selection, assessment processes, orientations;


·      Ensures section Personnel and Employee Relations administrative procedures are adhered to;


·      Ensure timely and accurate delivery of HR reporting suite for end of month, absence management, and other ad-hoc requests;


·      Ensures HR related administrative procedures are up to date, effective and reflective of HR best practices, conducive & consistent with legislative and contractual requirements;


·      Ensure documentations are in place and up to date, including the existence of all current Positions Descriptions across the business so that all employees understand their accountabilities;


·      If need be, in accordance with respective dept managers, arrange training sessions/refresher workshops for employees;


·      Performing various administrative tasks and accurately processing paperwork;


·      Serve as a counsellor for staff on HR policies, practices, and procedures;


·      Keeps management informed about HR matters on sites;


·      Consults with HR Manager on all significant personnel matters requiring intervention;


·      Take ownership of job duties. Offer team members assistance when necessary to help develop a fully competent and cohesive workforce. Recommends and develops process improvements and procedures to enhance productivity and improve service;


·      Other duties as required.


BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION


·      As the Employee Benefits expert, provide in-depth benefit presentation for all new hires during the onboarding process;


·      Prepare and setup meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits;


·      Distributes enrolment materials and determines eligibility;


·      Ensures benefits programs are administered with accuracy and employees are informed of options, conditions and all pertinent information needed;


·      Administers all employees benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, disability, retirement programs, notifications, workers compensation, etc..


·      Assists employees regarding benefits enrolments, claim issues and plan/statute changes.


 


 


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


 


Job Classification: According to the Collective Agreement of Companies and Enterprises

   Geological and Hydrogeological Mining in the Republic of Mali


Duty Station:  Goulamina  

Date of entry into service: As soon as possible

Nature of the contract: CDI aka open-ended contract

 


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:


 


Have at least a Bac +4 in Human Resource Management (or similar);

Have a professional experience of at least five (5) years as a senior HR professional

 


KEY COMPETENCIES:


Extensive HR experience on a remote mine site experience preferred;

Knowledgeable on HR and Employee Relations legislation;

Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of people;

Ability to resolve conflict;

Ability to build strong working relationships;

Highly experienced with managing disciplinary and ethics investigations, conflict resolution and performance management.
