Position:  Internal Audit Specialist

Overview:

Lithium Du Mali is on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Internal Audit Specialist to join our robust team in Goulamina, Mali. In this pivotal role, you will work directly under the guidance of the Finance & Administration Manager, spearheading our internal audit and compliance operations. This position is crucial for bolstering our internal controls framework and pinpointing opportunities for enhancement.

Key Responsibilities: 

- Spearhead the management and refinement of our internal controls framework, ensuring regular updates, meticulous testing, and comprehensive reporting on its efficacy.

- Proactively identify and report on internal control deficiencies, crafting and executing strategic plans to remedy these gaps and guarantee absolute compliance.

- Keep an up-to-date insurance register and handle quarterly reports on asset changes and insurance renewals.

- Direct our annual risk assessment initiative and maintain the risk registers.

- Ensure the integrity and precision of quarterly compliance reports.

- Regularly review and refresh internal control narratives.

- Conduct and present findings from quarterly HR internal controls testing.

- Administer quarterly internal review processes for approval by the Finance & Administration Manager.

- Promote adherence to top-tier governance practices, including compliance with Malian Tax Laws, OHADA, IFRS, and other regulatory frameworks.

- Respond to audit inquiries and manage special investigation demands.

- Design and implement robust preventative and detective audit systems and controls.

- Oversee compliance with legislative, regulatory, and statutory obligations.

- Uphold company policies and ensure all statutory and corporate responsibilities are met.

- Execute additional tasks as needed to support our team’s goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Post-graduate qualifications highly preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an audit-related role, post-qualification.

- Profound understanding of business workflows and internal control systems.

- Must be a Malian citizen with fluency in both French and English.
