Lithium Du Mali is a leading mining company operating in Goulamina, Mali. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Management Accounting Superintendent. This is a key position that will support our Financial Controller in managing and coordinating our financial planning, budgeting, and cost reporting processes.

Position:  Management Accounting Superintendent 

Location: Goulamina, Mali 

Reporting Relationship:  Financial Controller

Position Purpose:

The Management Accounting Superintendent ("MA") will be responsible for compiling monthly management accounting reports, preparing budgets and forecasts, conducting variance analysis, monitoring actuals against budgets, reviewing monthly trial balance, and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register. Additionally, the MA will provide training, coaching, and supervision to the site Project Cost Accountant.

Major Responsibility Areas:

• Prepare/compile/generate monthly operational cost variance reports.
• Review general ledger account transactions for completeness and accuracy of coding.
• Oversee and review Capital Work in progress, including tracking Capital Expenditure and variance reporting.
• Compile and track monthly cost accruals for Capital and operating expenditure.
• Prepare Quarterly Analysis schedules, including, but not limited to Fixed Assets, Capital Expenditure, Working capital and operating cost variances.
• Prepare/compile/generate monthly operational physicals reports for production, sales, and stockpiles.
• Manage the tracking and recording in Pronto ERP of monthly Quantity Accounts, including but not limited to Production Physicals, Headcount, and Sales.
• Assist with preparation of inventory (warehouse and metal inventory) valuations, impairments and stripping cost capitalizations.

• Assist with establishment of operational and capital budget for each financial year with cooperation of key stakeholders.
• Assist with periodic updates of Life of Mine Models.
• Assist with communication of approved financial plans and forecasts to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Train and coach site Management Accountant(s)
• Perform Cost Related Data migration from Sage to Pronto, including coding of transactions to new Cost Breakdown Structures in Pronto
• Be the custodian of Projects and Fixed Asset Register Modules and their administration post go-live.
• Develop and apply mechanisms and structures to ensure adherence to governance practices and protocols (Malian Tax Laws, OHADA, IFRS and other Malian Statutory requirements).
• Assist with audit enquiries (external or internal) and special investigations.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to SOX compliance for the respective processes responsible for.

Position Holder Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting.
• Post-graduate qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification relevant experience, with a significant portion in the mining industry.
• ERP system experience.
• Experience with planning, budgeting, and cost control.
• Malian Citizen and fluent in French and English.
