About us
We are building the next large scale global lithium hard rock project in southern Mali and developing a world class Goulamina project. Goulamina is a one of three hard rock projects of scale globally with 100% spodumene concentrate offtake currently available and will be West Africa’s first lithium mine. It will come online in 2024 to supply the booming lithium-ion battery industry.

The Mine Manager is responsible for all aspects of mine production, coordinating the development and application of mine plans and ensure preparation for production targets are met safely.
Reporting to the Interim Chief Operating Officer (GM operations), you will be responsible for the following:
Deliver medium term mine plans (3 month rolling), forecasting, and scheduling for budgets
Reconciliation of Contractor’s deliverables against LMSA mine plan and Leo corporate plan
Optimise the delivery of the mine plan whilst overseeing the planning for Load & Haul, Drill & Blast, Dewatering and Geotechnical, whilst also integrating up to date grade control/resource model, Mine to Mill, rehabilitation and closure requirements
Develop blast masters incorporating best industry practice to minimise ore dilution and loss, maintain productivity mine to mill and waste production, trim blasting and presplits to protect berms and batters
Preparation for all Mine Planning activities once transitioned to Operations phase of the project
Monitor through appropriately developed reporting systems and recommend, plan and implement future operationally optimised strategies
Reporting of costs and mine physicals
Provide technical support and advice
Coaching, mentoring, and leading a technical team
Oversee key mine projects including technology implementation and business improvement
Effective communicator orally and written, and to all levels of stakeholders and assume the role of Quarry Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Job Classification: According to the Collective Agreement of Companies and Enterprises
Geological and Hydrogeological Mining in the Republic of Mali in force
Duty Station: Goulamina
Date of entry into service: as soon as possible following the end of the publication of this vacancy announcement
Nature of the contract: CDI aka open-ended contract
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Have at least one qualification in Mining Engineering or the equivalent
Have a professional experience of at least 7 + years’ experience in the mining and exploration industry in a planning or operational role
KEY COMPETENCIES :
A proven track record in delivering operational improvements to a producing mine
Operational experience within large scale tier 1 and tier 2 surface operations
Strong technical knowledge focused on all ranges of planning
Expert systems user (GEOVIA Software packages – Surpac and Minesched) or similar package
An unrestricted Quarry Manager certification or equivalent would be advantageous.
Strong English oral and written skills is a must with bilingual (English and French) capabilities highly regarded.
