INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY NOTICE

Position: Open Pit Supervisor

Reports to: Mine Geologist

Department: Mining

Location: Goulamina

Key Responsibilities:

As an Open Pit Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and sustainable extraction of valuable resources. Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with monitoring and sampling of grade control drilling programs.

- Supervising ore extraction (ore-spotting) to optimize recovery and minimize ore loss and dilution.

- Maintaining detailed records of ore block and bench production.

- Assisting in RC drilling programs and sample management.

- Collaborating with the Mine Geologist and Process team for ore stockpile management.

- Identifying instances of mine dilution or ore loss and taking corrective actions.

- Supervising the performance of ore spotters.

- Adhering to strict safety protocols and promoting a safety culture.

- Assisting in training new Pit supervisors and ore spotters.

- Working towards departmental environmental objectives.

- Providing support in general on-site mining operations.

- Maintaining a professional work ethic and conduct.

- Building strong working relationships with colleagues and contractor personnel.

Qualifications and Skills:

To excel in this role, you should have:

- Understanding of basic ore body geometry.

- The ability to differentiate between ore and waste materials.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software, especially Excel.

- A Certificate or Diploma as a geological technician.

- A minimum of 3 years of industry experience (desirable).

- Experience with gold and/or open pit mining (desirable).

- Data entry experience (desirable).

- Knowledge of dilution control practices.

- Expertise in ore mark-up procedures.

- Experience in managing RC drilling programs.

- A valid driver's license.

Language Requirement:

- Fluent in Bambara and French (Fluent-High)
