INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY NOTICE

Position: Treasury Accountant 

Location: Goulamina, Mali 

Reporting Relationship: Financial Accounting Superintendent 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Take charge of the cash receipting, reporting, and payment processes, including loading payment orders on banking platforms, coordinating payment approvals, and managing payment documentation.
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany payments to ensure accuracy and timely recording.
  • Engage with banking partners to address payment issues, bank charges, and interest matters, as well as facilitate account opening and closure, and implement necessary changes to authorized signatories and access to bank platforms. 
  • Prepare and submit cash calls to ensure sufficient funding is available for operational needs.
  • Record and reconcile mineral sales proceeds against customer accounts, maintaining meticulous records.
  • Manage and maintain accountability for petty cash movement.
  • Facilitate payment confirmations to suppliers as required, promptly and accurately.
  • Create and manage beneficiaries on banking platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Implement and uphold internal control activities associated with cash and banking.
  • Compile and analyze weekly, monthly, and periodic cash flow forecasts, and monitor bank account balances.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and other treasury-related reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge: 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent level of experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the banking industry, including an understanding of Central Bank regulations.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a treasury role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Malian citizenship and fluency in both French and English.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating colleagues towards achieving common goals.
  • Strong safety leadership mindset, prioritizing and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Broad-minded and able to think laterally, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges.
